Sterling Silver Model of the Spirit of St. Louis
Richard Comyns
Hallmarked London, 1977

This limited edition sterling silver model commemorates one of the most celebrated aircraft in aviation history: the Spirit of St. Louis, the custom-built monoplane that carried Charles Lindbergh on the first solo, nonstop transatlantic flight. Completed in just 33 hours and 30 minutes on May 20–21, 1927, Lindbergh's journey from New York to Paris proved what many believed impossible and forever transformed long-distance aviation. Created to mark the 50th anniversary of this landmark achievement, this model honors the aircraft that became an enduring symbol of innovation, courage and human ingenuity.

Finely crafted in solid sterling silver, the model faithfully captures the unmistakable form of the Spirit of St. Louis, from its high-mounted wings to its single-engine monoplane design. The upper wing bears the edition number, No. 41, along with the maker's hallmarks, while the fitted base carries additional London hallmarks for 1977. The polished silver finish highlights the aircraft's clean, purposeful lines, creating an elegant tribute to one of the most recognizable airplanes ever built.

This commemorative model was produced by Richard Comyns, one of London's most respected silversmithing firms, whose history dates to the late 19th century. Renowned for exceptional craftsmanship and traditional English silverwork, the firm created this limited edition to celebrate the golden anniversary of Lindbergh's historic flight. Today, the Spirit of St. Louis remains one of the defining aircraft of the 20th century, remembered not only for its groundbreaking achievement but also for ushering in a new era of international air travel and demonstrating the extraordinary possibilities of modern aviation.
