This exceptional Victorian silver liqueur set by Heath and Middleton exemplifies the elegance and refinement of 19th-century silver craftsmanship. The set features a heart-shaped sterling silver tray with an everted gadroon-chased rim, offering a striking balance of intricate detailing and functional design.

At its center, a multiple-reeded ring holder elegantly accommodates ten glass liqueur tumblers and two larger rings fitted with matching glass liqueur decanters. The decanters showcase a bulbous shape with inset elongated necks, gracefully curved C-scroll handles and sterling silver hinged lids adorned with shell-chased thumbpieces. The entire composition rests on three ball feet.

John Thomas Heath and John Hartshorne Middleton were esteemed silversmiths of the late 19th century, renowned for their fine tableware and innovative designs. Active in Birmingham, they were the successor partnership of Hukin & Heath and produced works that showcased superior craftsmanship, often incorporating elaborate decorative elements.
