Cartier’s celebrated panther finds one of its most elegant and ingenious expressions in the Promenade d’une Panthère. Poised against a black lacquer dial, the diamond-set feline swings with the wearer’s wrist, its graceful passage helping to wind the watch. Here, the maison’s emblem plays an essential role in powering the mechanism, giving high jewelry a remarkable horological purpose.
Brilliant-cut diamonds cover the rhodium-plated 18K white gold case and bezel, continuing across the lugs and beaded crown. The sculpted panther is pavé-set with diamonds, its black lacquer spots standing in crisp contrast to the surrounding brilliance. Slender sword-shaped hands cross the dial, while a black alligator strap fastens with a diamond-set white gold deployant clasp.
Introduced in 2012, the model brings the automatic movement’s oscillating weight, usually concealed behind the mechanism, onto the dial in the form of the panther itself.
