Intricate engravings symbolic of the English monarchy decorate this limited edition glass tankard commemorating the 1937 coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. On one side, the king's crowned monogram is framed by oak and thistle foliage and inscribed with the dates of his coronation and accession. The reverse celebrates George VI's place within the lineage of the Stuart Kings, the historic Kings of Scotland, with the inscription, "The Stuart Descent from Robert the Steward, 1371 to King George VI, 1936." A silver token displaying the royals in profile is embedded into the base of the glass, completing this impressive tribute to one of the most important coronations in the history of the British Empire.
