This finely painted porcelain plaque presents Queen Louise of Prussia after Gustav Richter’s 1879 portrait. Louise of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, wife of King Frederick William III, was one of the most admired royal figures of her age, celebrated for her beauty, intelligence and patriotism. With her direct gaze, softly modeled features and delicate veil, the plaque preserves the grace and dignity of Richter’s original composition.
