First crafted in Europe during the middle of the 19th century, porcelain plaques are very difficult to produce, as ceramic paints do not attain their final color until after firing. These incredible pieces reached their heyday between 1870 and 1890, and were often based upon well-known paintings of the day. Mounted within a beautiful gilt frame, this stunning plaque is in excellent condition.
