Created in collaboration with Aston Martin, the Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX2 brings the worlds of high-performance automobiles and fine watchmaking together through one of the manufacture's most inventive chronograph designs. This example, number 181 of a limited series of only 300, is crafted in 18K rose gold and presents a dramatic black and anthracite semi-skeletonized dial. Bold applied Arabic numerals frame the exposed central mechanism, while rotating chronograph counters and a date aperture at 5 o'clock complete the highly technical display.
Rather than conventional chronograph pushers, the AMVOX2 employs Jaeger-LeCoultre's innovative vertical-trigger system. Pressing the upper portion of the sapphire crystal starts and stops the chronograph, while pressure on the lower portion returns it to zero. A locking slide along the left side of the case prevents accidental activation.
The AMVOX collection revived a historic connection between Jaeger-LeCoultre and Aston Martin. Jaeger-LeCoultre produced automotive instruments during the 1920s, including instruments associated with early Aston Martin automobiles, while the two marques renewed their partnership in the early 2000s. The engraved rose gold caseback bears the Aston Martin wings and the watch's individual limited-series number, while a black leather strap and 18K rose gold deployant clasp complete the design. It is accompanied by its distinctive Jaeger-LeCoultre presentation box bearing a plaque identifying the limited series as specially handcrafted for Aston Martin.
