This exceptional two-handled serving bowl by Tiffany & Co. commemorates the marriage of Elizabeth Beirne McFarland and Randolph Barksdale, a prominent Virginia family, on May 26, 1858. The bowl’s other side is inscribed with “1907 M. T. H.” and “1939 J. T. H.,” marking the family's continued legacy which was added as the generations flourished. These sentimental markings are encircled by delicate scrollwork and acanthus leaf motifs.
