The Chicago Antiques + Art + Design Show has quickly become the event of the Chicago spring season. When it opens with a Thursday night preview on May 16, 2019, the presentation will be welcomed enthusiastically by the many collectors who were so delighted with the new version of the fair, produced for the past two years by Dolphin Promotions.
There will again be a four-day opportunity to view—and purchase—fine objects from throughout the nation and the world, including a three-day weekend show, May 17 to 19, and the festive Opening Night Party, Thursday, May 16. The exhibition will once more be presented in gallery settings in the spacious expanse of the Mart’s seventh floor space.
A special attraction this year will be Design Chairs Fernando Wong and Amanda Lindroth. Bahamas-based Amanda is author of the new book Island Hopping, and Fernando is an internationally known landscape designer.

Amanda and Fernando will join forces by hosting a lecture and VIP reception in the hour leading up to the Opening Night Party and both will mingle with guests during the three-hour festivities that follow.

As last year, when it was the season’s most dazzling event of its sort, the Opening Night Party will benefit The Woman’s Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. This spring’s three co-chairs will be Stuart Dyer, Alison McNally and Elizabeth Pruett. Charenton Drake is Woman’s Board president.
The high-profile cocktail reception will present serious collectors with the opportunity to shop the Chicago Antiques + Art + Design Show before its enticing items are offered to the public.
Each of the three outstanding co-chairs of this year’s Opening Night Party has been named aClassic Chicago Woman by this publication and recognized as such with a charming image by prominent Chicago illustrator Rosemary Fanti.
