Sneak Peek: 11 Major Jewels Headed to the NYC Jewelry & Watch Show
Starting on Friday, Oct. 25, more than 100 antique and estate jewelry dealers will gather at the New York City Jewelry & Watch Show. Held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea, the show is open to the general public, but it’s a great opportunity for retailers to source exceptional finds for private clients while expanding their network of dealers. And as is often the case with shows of this nature, there’s no better venue for boning up on your knowledge of jewelry history. We reached out to some exhibitors we know and follow in search of the “wow” pieces you might see at the show. Two jewels from New York–based estate and antique jewelry dealer Pat Saling stand out (both pictured below).
The Suzanne Belperron earrings bear the designer’s maker’s mark and a have certificate of authenticity stating that they were made in the late 1950s–60s. Meanwhile, the brooch is the work of Lacloche Frères, a lesser-known luxury French jeweler that is being celebrated via an exhibition hosted by the Van Cleef & Arpels–supported L’Ècole des Arts Joailliers in Paris through Dec. 20. A forthcoming retrospective book on Lacloche is also on the horizon. Collectors, take note. Below, a preview of some other glamazons that surfaced during our inquiry. Might any of them align with a holiday wish list you’re tracking? Don’t let them get away…
