In the heart of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, Aspen has long been celebrated for its world-class ski slopes and outdoor recreation. Yet, beyond its natural beauty, the town has cultivated an art scene that stands alongside those of major cultural capitals. As summer approaches and snow-covered peaks give way to lush landscapes, Aspen becomes a dynamic destination for collectors, connoisseurs and art enthusiasts— we cannot wait to be a part of it again!

Aspen’s accessibility further sets it apart. Within its walkable downtown, visitors can move easily from gallery to gallery, encountering museum-caliber masterpieces typically found in Paris, London or New York. This unique concentration of exceptional art creates an intimate viewing experience and a sense of community that larger cities cannot replicate. We were honored to welcome so many discerning collectors and visitors to our gallery last summer, we are thrilled to extend our hospitality even further for the coming year!
Looking Back: Summer 2024 Highlights:
One of the most rewarding aspects of our pop-up gallery was the opportunity to host creative events regularly. These gatherings allowed us to connect with the local community while also welcoming guests from around the world for educational seminars and presentations. Here are some of our most memorable moments.
Fuel Your Brain: Art & Juice Pairing Energizes Ideas Festival Attendees
The innovative "Fuel Your Brain" happy hour series at our gallery proved to be the perfect afternoon respite for Ideas Festival participants. Visitors were captivated by Patrick Hughes' perspective-shifting 3D works while sampling specially formulated cold-press juice blends. The intricate Battle of Issus chess set drew particular attention, with guests fascinated by its historical significance and craftsmanship. It sold soon after the event, which means one particular festival participant was particularly inspired!
Perfect Impressions: Keller Estate Wine Pairing Creates Unforgettable Art Experience
The "Perfect Impressions" wine and art pairing exceeded expectations during Food & Wine Festival weekend, drawing both serious collectors and culinary enthusiasts to M.S. Rau's Aspen gallery. Keller Estate's rare limited-production Pinot Noir proved to be the perfect companion to Renoir's atmospheric landscapes, while their crisp Chardonnay complemented Magritte's surrealist works. Guests particularly appreciated the expert commentary connecting the sensory experience of wine with artistic dialogue.

Lempicka Brings Art Deco Icon to Aspen
Our exclusive Tamara de Lempicka event series offered audiences intimate insights into the influential Art Deco painter's legacy. Led by her great-granddaughter Marisa de Lempicka, a Snowmass Village resident, the July 25th and August 1st presentations revealed personal perspectives on the artist's pioneering approach to self-reinvention. Attendees were particularly drawn to discussions of how Lempicka's distinctive blend of Neoclassical, Renaissance and Cubist influences revolutionized portraiture in her era and continues to increasingly break her own auction records!
Mint Julep Mingle Becomes Highlight of Aspen's Independence Day Celebrations
Our 4th of July Mint Julep Mingle became the sophisticated post-parade destination during Aspen's Independence Day celebration. The gallery provided a refined escape from the crowds while maintaining a festive atmosphere, and guests particularly appreciated exploring American artistic heritage while sipping traditional juleps.

Summer 2025 is shaping up to be an extraordinary season for art in Aspen. Our calendar is already filling up with events, client visits and plans to showcase some of our most remarkable works in the mountains. Fresh from our success at TEFAF, we will return with newly acquired fine art for sale by Monet, Renoir, Picasso and more, not to mention recently acquired jewelry and objet. After forging so many meaningful connections last summer, we are eager to further establish ourselves as a must-visit destination within Aspen’s thriving art scene.
If you're interested in collaborating with us, we would love to host your event in our Aspen gallery. With extensive experience curating exceptional celebrations and private tours at our New Orleans gallery, we are excited to bring that same level of hospitality and sophistication to your next gathering.
For collectors looking to acquire a significant piece for their Colorado home, we are always delighted to arrange private viewings. One of the most rewarding parts of our work is visiting clients, understanding their spaces and helping them find the perfect addition to their collections.
